London vs Dubai
Splitting my time between Harley Street and Downtown Dubai offers a unique vantage point on the global aesthetics industry. While human anatomy is universal, beauty standards are culturally fluid.
London: The "Undone" Aesthetic
In London, the request is almost always for "undetectable" work. Patients want to look refreshed, but they are terrified of looking "done." The focus is heavily on skin quality, subtle tear trough correction, and maybe a touch of baby Botox. It is understated, classic, and conservative.
Dubai: High Definition & Glamour
Dubai, by contrast, embraces a more high-definition aesthetic. There is an appreciation for sharper contours—a more defined jawline, a higher cheekbone, a brighter under-eye. It is unapologetically glamorous.
However, what I am seeing now is a convergence. Dubai patients are increasingly asking for the natural techniques I use in London, and London patients are becoming more open to the structural definition popular in the Middle East. The global standard is settling somewhere in the beautiful middle: defined, structured, but harmoniously natural.
